Local Registration
Once your residence is sorted, a second round of paperwork begins: the registrations that make you a resident in practice, and that almost everything else in Spain depends on. Each one below is a separate service, so you can hand us only the ones you need. We tell you the order they have to go in, book the appointments and come with you.

Your NASS number. You need it before you can be hired, registered as self-employed, or use the public health system.

Registration with the Spanish tax authority so you have a valid tax identification number.

Spain's special tax regime for people who move here to work. If you qualify, for your first years you are taxed at a flat rate instead of Spain's progressive scale, which can mean a substantial saving depending on your income. We check whether you meet the requirements and file the application within the deadline that applies once you start working.

Registering your spouse and children under your cover, so the whole family can use the public health system.

Your padrón. It proves where you live, and you need it for almost everything else.

Registering at your local health centre and being assigned a doctor. Done once you have your corresponding ID card (DNI/TIE), Social Security certificate and Town Hall registration.

For non-EU citizens. Exchanging your foreign licence for a Spanish one, where Spain has an agreement with your country.

For Spanish nationals: obtaining or renewing your national ID card. Relevant if you are returning to Spain after years abroad.

Registering births and marriages that took place abroad so they are recognised in Spain.
